This antique hand-carved wooden chair was made in France and has the original caned seat. There is lovely detail carved throughout the frame and legs of the piece and it has been upholstered in this one-of-a-kind hand-painted linen. The linen came from a vintage bolt that has been hand-painted in an abstract composition using Japanese ink.

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition. Please see photos. The chair is sturdy. The seat caning is intact. The caning along the sides and back were broken beyond repair. The sides and back have been upholstered in vintage linen. The linen was hand-painted in Japanese ink and is not washable. If the linen gets wet, the ink will smear. Please see the last photo which depicts the only flaw to the wood that I can see. You could reupholster to fit your decor or have the caning added back to the back and sides.
