This beautiful Japanese Satsuma Pottery Bowl is of irregular circular form in the shape of a plum blossom. It is decorated over the crackled glaze in enamels and gilding with a Daimyo's procession winding through an empty landscape. The rim is festooned in decorative festive paper ribbons bearing varying diaper designs.  The base is marked with a two character seal reading "Taizan" or "Shinzan."
